The Detroit Festival of the Arts, like similar ones around the country, celebrates the rich culture and talent of people all ages. There are art exhibitions, drama, musical and puppet performances, children’s and informative activities. The older children and teens try out their artistic hand by making creative paintings, street paintings and various items which can then be sold to those at the festival.
The Musical Maze is one of the delights of the young children and those young at heart as it opens a musical world to them to express their creativity with sounds. The older generation not only enjoy seeing their little ones blossom, but they also have an activity of their own, cookery. They present exotic, creative foods that are sold to those attending the festival.
As these festivals gain popularity, award winning poets, renowned authors, international music and jazz performances are now finding their way to the festivals. Museums, galleries and entertainment companies are also show casing their art and prowess in their different fields which serves to create awareness and enhance the culture that particular region.
